The husband and I had a real-talk conversation a few nights ago. We talked about how life has changed, we talked about all the different pieces of advice we’ve been given through this huge transition time of our lives.
We came to the conclusion that at the end of the day, we are just our own world.
We do what’s right for us, what allows us to grow and thrive. Just because another family’s world works one way, doesn’t mean we’re the same… in fact we’re all just different worlds coexisting.
All of our worlds are beautiful in its own way… and it’s not fair to compare any to each other.
It’s something that I should remind myself of more often. It’s so easy to forget that when scrolling through all the beautiful & picture perfect moms and families on social media. It’s even easy to forget when you’re hanging out with your own friends, swapping baby woes & postpartum stories.
I’m going to try to embrace the things that make my family, MY family. I’m going to try to remember all the quirks that make me love Rob for who he is and I’m going to try to stop and cherish all the funny things this (almost) 8 month old little girl is doing, as I know the moments are fleeting.
